New Cabin Depot – West Meadows

Balfour Beatty Plant & Fleet Services are proud to announce that our new Accommodation and Site Services Cabin Depot - ‘West Meadows’ in Derby is now operational, following the move from our long term home at Raynesway.
The new depot supports us on our Zero Harm journey, as it gets us one step closer to the goal of transforming all of our depots into a Formula 1 Standard. This means that there is a place for everything and everything is in its place and it is free from slips, trips and falls.
Our new West meadows Depot boasts of improved yard storage and a well equipped open plan office environment. Further Zero Harm planned improvements include the imminent installation of a Tower Crane designed to reduce handling time for loading and off loading cabins to enable more Feet on the Ground! We are also considering options for a cabin spray painting facility, and have recently invested further in motorising the workshop doors, providing new woodworking machinery, tooling, storage, racking and a stock system to reduce lead times.
We have also re-organised our business to enable us to better serve our customers so we now centrally operate the management and administration of the cabin hire business from two bases; Derby and Bellshill, dividing the UK into Northern and Southern Regions. The facility at Marchwood will initially operate as a “satellite” facility. This is intended to give us better coverage to deal more efficiently and effectively with administration, customer service and management of customer interface. We will be further strengthening our team over the coming weeks to help us deliver this.
